The former child cares for the father who has again become a child himself. An enormous portrait of Jesus Christ examines mildly and mutely the fragility of being human. This play by Romeo Castellucci, one of the most radical and important European directors, is one of the most impressive pieces of theatre in recent years.

A performance by Sandrine Buring and a dance solo by Orin Camus devote themselves to the topic of setting limits and crossing borders. Using different approaches, both artists demonstrate the diversity of dance in France.

A choir consisting of 25 women from multiple generations create a new form of music theatre. Director Marta Górnicka addresses humorously, dramatically and musically highly diversified images of women in everyday life.

Staging: Oskaras Koršunovas
(In Lithuanian with German subtitles)

Father and daughter sit in exile on an island, cut off from the world. This deeply moving two-person piece by Oskaras Koršunovas, renowned director from Lithuania, is based on the drama »The Tempest« by William Shakespeare. It asks questions about power, violence, the desire for freedom, wisdom and the misery of humanity.

This dramatic-poetic dance play with 9 dancers shows the invisible flowering and the sudden eruption from pre-defined norms. Choreographer Rainer Behr is dancer with the Wuppertal dance theatre Pina Bausch.

A Roma family tries to find their footing again in post-war Kosovo. The theatre play by Jeton Neziraj is a tragicomedy composed of political innuendos and passionately absurd scenes with six actors and two musicians.

Pastor Gunther believes in the good of humanity and has dedicated himself to the rehabilitation of »problem citizens«. Together with the two wonderful actors Armin Kopp und Philippe Nauer, director Dirk Vittinghoff created a light comedy and dark tragedy in a mixture of actor theatre and puppet theatre.

A small creature tries to master its life. The marionette wants to be a person and captures the hearts of the audience. It is manipulated as if by magic, yet it slowly finds its own thoughts. Zoran Petrovič staged this puppet theatre play without language in Slovenian Maribor.

A funeral procession, small children in diapers, sprightly retirees in a nursing home – amusing and entertaining, captivatingly performed, deeply poignant, a theatre play without words. The play combines elements of movement and body theatre, but its biggest secret lies in the phenomenal effect of the masks.

Two unconventional performances by Silvia Costa deal with various human disorders. At first she herself plays a solo which is about sexual deviations, followed by a performance by Juri Roverato as shepherd god Pan.

The dance piece by famous choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker takes a musical journey through time to the late 14th century. With 8 dancers and 4  musicians she shows an orderly chaos full of harmony, irritatingly erotic, between life and death, fear and hope. A masterpiece.
