»Hamlet« is perhaps the most fascinating piece by William Shakespeare. This event centres on video excerpts from productions and films making up the pioneering and most individual story of the interpretation of the drama. They shed especially further light on the figure of Hamlet, e.g. by Peter Brook, Celestino Coronado, Michael Almereyda, Romeo Castellucci and Grigorij Kosinzew.

Political dimensions, erotic lust and a self-reflective mediality but above all Hamlet’s monologues define the modernity of the piece. These monologues form the central element of a self-construction that is shifted to the inside of consciousness, a psyche of which the identity has become a problem to itself.

Am 07. Nov., 18.00 Uhr, ist »Hamlet« in der Regie von Oskaras Koršunovas, Vilnius, mit dem OKT / Vilnius City Theatre zu sehen.
