euro-scene Leipzig is once again announcing the competition »Das beste deutsche Tanzsolo« (»Best German Dance Solo«). The festival for contemporary theater and dance attained the German rights to the concept developed by the Belgian choreographer Alain Platel in 1997. It will organize the competition for the 14th time during the festival, which will take place for the 29th time from 05. – 10. November 2019 with the motto »Parallelwelten« (»Parallel worlds«).

Anyone may apply, regardless of whether they are professionals or amateurs, with a 5 minute solo. »We are seeking,« as the festival director Ann-Elisabeth Wolff states, »charisma, individuality and persuasiveness. Style, age and nationality are irrelevant.« Applying with unique dance creations and unconventional interpretations is encouraged.

After an internal selection, the dancers will present themselves to the audience and a 5 member jury on a round table with a 7 meter diameter. The artistic direction is in the hands of René Reinhardt, Leipzig. The 3 winners will be receive prizes of € 1.500, € 1.000 and € 500 respectively. In addition, an audience prize will also be awarded.

Public rounds: 08. + 09.11.2019
Finale and award ceremony: 10.11.2019
