(Dance Platform Germany)

The Dance Platform Germany is the most distinguished forum of contemporary dance in Germany. Every two years it shows since 1994 an inventory of current movements and innovative trends of the German dance scene. After Berlin, Frankfurt/Main, Munich, Hamburg, Leipzig, Dusseldorf, Stuttgart, Hanover and Nuremberg, the 10th Dance Platform Germany from 23. – 26.02.2012 will be held in Dresden. Since the year 2000 the euro-scene Leipzig has been member of its currently 10 co-organisers and presented the Dance Platform Germany in Leipzig in 2002.

A publication is published with each Dance Platform Germany. Since 2002 it contains numerous essays, 50-60 portraits of the most important choreographers and companies in Germany and a comprehensive section with addresses (choreographers, companies, and institutions).

News

The next euro-scene Leipzig will take place from 06. Nov. – 11. Nov. 2012 for the 22nd time.

The last euro-scene Leipzig took place from 08. Nov. – 13. Nov. 2011 for the 21st time. The utilization of the festival reached with 7.200 spectators a level of 95,7 %.

The prize winners of the competition »Das beste deutsche Tanzsolo« (»Best German dance solo«) have been elected in the final night of the euro-scene Leipzig 2011.
