International Theatre Institute (ITI), based in Paris –
Centre of the Federal Republic of Germany, Berlin

The ITI is a global international theatre network having served, under the patronage of the UNESCO, the exchange of persons engaged in the theatre sector. It was founded in Prague in 1948 and has at present about 90 national centres. The ITI Centre of the Federal Republic of Germany lists about 200 members; the euro-scene Leipzig has been among them since 1994. Every three years it hosts the Theater der Welt (Theatre of the world), Germany's largest theatre festival, which took place in Mülheim an der Ruhr and Essen in 2010.


Theater der Welt (Theatre of the World)

The International Theatre Institute Berlin is presenter of the »Theater der Welt« (»Theatre of the World«), the largest theatre festival in Germany. It was held from 29 June to 17 July 2010 under the direction of Frie Leysen and Roger Christmann in Mülheim an der Ruhr/Essen.
