1. Conception of the festival

The euro-scene Leipzig will take place from 02. to 07. November 2010 for the 20th time. Under the motto »Spurensuche« (»Searching for traces«) the festival of contemporary European theatre embarks on a journey both towards a résumé of its own development since its foundation in 1991 during the adventurous post-reunification era and towards setting a course for the future and towards setting a course for the future. The festival will show 12 guest plays from 10 countries in 25 performances and 9 venues. Among them are seven German premieres.

For the fifth time the festival awarded a carte blanche, based on which one member of the artistic festival board invites a guest play. Klemens Wannenmacher, founder and director of Creativ Coaching Berlin, chose »Twee stemmen« (»Two voices«) of NTGent by Johan Simons, one of the best plays of the last decade with the wonderful actor Jeroen Willems from Amsterdam.

We would like to invite you cordially to the festival. Upon request the programme will be sent to you free of charge.
